How To Write Better Articles & Increase Your Blog Traffic: 5 Tips & Tricks

Want to learn how to write better articles & increase your blog traffic?

Nowadays, video content is king. However, this doesn’t mean that blog articles are obsolete or no longer appreciated. Written content has its dedicated place and purpose, and it will always be an important part of any content marketing strategy.

So today I wanted to share with you some tips & tricks that can help you write better articles and get more readers on your blog.

write better articles

1. Choose a catchy opening line

Make the reader curious about the content, get him intrigued from the first line.

For example: “An Illinois woman mourns her two young daughters, swept to their deaths in Hurricane Katrina’s floodwaters. It’s a tragic and terrifying story. It’s also a lie.”

2. Use the storytelling structure

Guide the reader through the main pillars of a novel construction:

  • Start by giving context
  • Create a conflict
  • Get to the climax (the turning point of the story)
  • Provide closure
  • Come up with a satisfying conclusion for the ending.

3. Use examples and anecdotes

Stats or facts don’t mean anything, unless you give people examples from real-life and situations that they can relate to.

If possible, make references to pop culture, known public figures or news, to better anchor the facts in the mind of the reader.

4. Remember to include visuals

Some examples of visuals: funny gifs, infographics, screenshots, topic-related photos, embedded videos, etc.

Make sure you support the written text with fun visuals, to make the content easier to read, funnier and more entertaining for the reader.

5. Focus on just one main topic, if possible

If you want your article to be more appealling to readers (and not bore them to death), try to stick to one main topic per article.

If the subject is very generous and hard to summarize, try to split the content and create an article series (or create a comprehensive guide / eBook).
